We are honored to announce the 2026 Strasburg Mayfest King and Queen, two individuals who embody the spirit, history, and sense of community that define Strasburg.

King, Roger “Augie” McDonald and Queen, Loretta Campbell “Tillie”

2026 Strasburg Mayfest King

Roger “Augie” McDonald has been a familiar and well-loved presence in Strasburg for many years. Known for his daily walks around town and friendly demeanor, Augie is someone many residents recognize and appreciate.
A proud veteran, Augie served in Germany as a tank driver. In 1968, he married his beloved wife, Goldie McDonald, and together they shared many wonderful years.
He retired from ABEX/Federal Mogul in May 2015 after a long and dedicated career. Augie has always enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends, often recalling his days playing pool on Main Street in the 1970s.
Augie recently celebrated his 80th birthday. He is the proud father of two children, grandfather of five, and great-grandfather of eight.

2026 Strasburg Mayfest Queen

At 105 years old, Loretta Campbell “Tillie” is Strasburg’s longest-living resident and a remarkable representation of the town’s history.
A lifelong member of the community, Tillie shared her musical talents with her siblings, performing locally and bringing joy to many. She built her life in Strasburg, working, worshipping, raising her family, and remaining deeply connected to the traditions of the town.
Today, she is often sought out as a storyteller and a valuable source of historical knowledge. Notably, Tillie participated in the early May Day festivals, long before they evolved into what is now known as Mayfest.
Her lifelong connection to Strasburg and its traditions makes her an especially meaningful choice as this year’s Mayfest Queen.
